We've recently wrapped our first short film, "Longing for Eden", this marks CALM Collective's first narrative short. We started off our creative process by producing the documentary 'Gratitude' and have always known that we also wanted to tell our own stories by sharing our writing and other creative skills in filmmaking, and we made the next obvious move: pre- production of our first narrative. The logline: While delivering a message of warning to past leaders about earth's gloomy condition in the future, twin sisters Star and Casey encounter an unknown glitch in their time travel system that disrupts their mission and Star's only way back home. I wrote "Longing for Eden" because I specifically wanted to explore a story of sci-fi and faith through the lens of a real world issue. The subject we delve into is the need to care for our planet, specifically our oceans. A huge inspiration for the movie is a poem I wrote called "Creation". Throughout the film are elements of a futuristic world of time travel and undertones of the internal and external wants and needs of humans; specifically humans from the past (our present) vs the future. We hope to release a trailer of the film before the end of 2019, we'll keep you posted! Anele LundborgWriter, Managing Director, CALM Collective Comments are closed.
