FAQs
Can I put my name on a waiting list for an earlier shoot?
While we do not keep a general waiting list, you will have the option to add your name to our internal list during the final step of the booking process. Our booking manager will contact you directly if an earlier shoot date opens up.
Do you shoot digital or film?
We shoot digital.
When do I receive my photos? Do I own them?
Typically, within 14 business days from the date of your session, you will receive a downloadable WeTransfer link of your ENTIRE headshot session (with our photographer choosing his favorites) and a WeTransfer link of your final edit of your scene/s if you booked a tier for scenes. Your initial gallery will be low resolution raw images measuring 1200 pixels, at 1800 per inch (PPI). This is plenty large enough for online usage such as social media and casting sites. Yes you own those images, and you may do as you wish with them. Of course, Anele & her team always appreciate the credit; @anelestories (for Anele).
We will not release high resolution images (4000 pixels by 6000 pixels) unless they are properly retouched. Please select which photos you want retouched according to the quantity included in your booked package. The rate is $25/image and is included in your package. More details will be provided at the studio after your session.
We are very strict on this policy. Our photos are awesome because of the time, energy, and passion that we put into each shoot and the expertise of our award winning photographer.
Do I need to book hair and makeup? Can I bring my own artist?
Anele has done makeup for acting headshots and reel scenes (she did Jazmine’s makeup), however, sometimes she may have a studio contracted makeup artist do your make up. In this case the artist is automatically booked for your headshot session and the fee is payable directly to us. Unless otherwise stated, assume that Anele will be doing your makeup.
All hair must be mostly done prior to your session and you’re welcome to bring someone along to help style your hair. Anele is also happy to lend a hand in helping you style your hair. Feel free to ask Anele if you’re unsure about which hairstyle to go for, she is there for you and to help you as much as possible.
The artists Anele works with have been fully vetted by her and are extremely talented & versed in ALL face shapes, skin colors & ethnicities. They are part of a collaboration to style you and have you looking your best, assisting Anele throughout the shoot, making sure your hair, makeup and clothes are in just the right place! Our artists wear many hats to help get the beautiful shots that you see on our website and on Instagram.
We do not allow clients to opt out of studio makeup or arrange to bring their own artist, no exceptions. Our relationships with top makeup professionals are critical to maintaining the studios' consistently high standards. Rest assured, we will always make sure you are comfortable and happy with the makeup and even your hair before shooting each look.
We treat scene sessions the same way that we treat our headshots when it comes to hair & makeup.
What should I wear for my headshot and/or scene session?
We will send you all the information that you need to prepare well ahead of your shoot.
Do you supply locations, wardrobe and props for the scenes?
Unfortunately not, however we do have relationships with people who may be able to assist with some of those things and we will discuss your scene/s thoroughly with you and make sure that we write a scene/s that will accommodate what we have available to us and your needs as an actor for your reel whether you have a budget for all the above or not. We will also do our best to supply whatever we can; we're here to help you and we want your scenes to look great, this will be a team effort :)
Can I opt out of the virtual consultation?
Unfortunately not. Anele needs to know who she is working with before she works with them.
Can I pay by credit card?
Currently, we accept any US-issued and most internationally-issued magstripe or chip cards bearing a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, or UnionPay logo. Square also supports mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
